What we are doing
06/11/06 | Liberty

Unity's current projects with young people aged 11 to 25 with a priority on 13 to19 year olds.
The Cine City Project in Old Moat has just come to an end with a wonderful community show which included Old Moat's very own Charlie Chaplin. Based at the Old Moat Youth Outreach Project. It was a great success. UYAS artist Kelly.
Another OMYOP based project is the ongoing Peace Project. Look out for the public sign soon to be installed in Old Moat Park with images created by young people. UYAS artist Jill.

Our third Old Moat project involved video/film making and it has provided young people with an opportunity to apply for funding for activities to the newly established Youth Opportunities Fund set up by Government and administered by Manchester Council. UYAS artist Elise.

Moving on into Levenshulme is the young women's Identity Project based at the high school. Their work will be exhibited at the Unity Winter Festival.
Another two groups that are involved in the Identity Project are Richmond Park Pupil Referral Unit in Longsight and Crossacres PRU in Wythenshawe. These young people will produce some wonderful visual pieces if their submission to the Greater Manchester Youth Games is anything to go by. They were Bronze Medal WINNERS in 2006!
We also expect all the other groups involved in the Identity Project from Chorlton, Burnage, Chorlton Park and Royal Oak to have an enjoyable and creative experience. Watch this space... UYAS artists Jill, Adelle, Dee and Carlos.

Next onto Unity's Music Makers Project with young people from across central and south Manchester. Based at Chorlton High School late afternoon after school time two groups meet on a Monday and Friday. You can expect to see their achievements at the Winter Fest. UYAS artists Dan & Elise

Coming very soon from November The Bridge Project in Burnage with BMAG. Everyone using the cycle path will be able to enjoy this work of art by local young people. UYAS artists Adelle & Jill
We've loads more to tell you but more next time...

Thank you to the New Support Fund and Manchester Voluntary Youth Sector Fund (MYS & Connexions), Unity Volunteer Fundraisers, Old Moat Ward Cash Grants
